Bus Line 17 Extension Approved for a Stop in Hillcrest Estates!

We are pleased to announce we will have a stop in Hillcrest Estates, the bus will then provide access throughout Eau Claire and Altoona. This is huge for our residents! This will give our residents daily transportation to hospitals, shopping, groceries and more! Over the next several months finalization for the bustling will take place, this won’t happen overnight, but we will keep you posted along the way. 

In the Spring of 2023 we sent out the survey above because we saw the need to expand the bus line route 17. The bus route 17 was already in service, but it didn’t travel to the Eastern part of Eau Claire. Many people, our residents included, were having to walk long distances to a nearby bus stop just to get to work, or go to a store for their basic needs. 

It is because of everyone who used their voice and took the survey regarding the need for the bus line extension- we will officially have a stop in Hillcrest Estates! Your feedback was instrumental in making this happen and we are thankful.

The bus stops at many different locations, and most of the stops are every hours. https://www.eauclairewi.gov/government/our-divisions/transit/maps-schedules/17-altoona You will be able to see the weekly and saturday schedule on Eau Claires website above. The mat currently doesn’t show the new stops for Hillcrest, but it should be updated in the coming months.
